Innerpartysystem - Never Be Content

Rating: 8

Last seen suffering the public indignation of being dropped by a label more concerned with figures on a spreadsheet than artistic merit, the Pennsylvania crossover kids announce their return with a cracking six-track EP. Given the circumstances they can be forgiven the cynical bent of ‘Money’, but what’s more surprising is their move towards a more processed, dance-oriented sound that drifts perilously close to Benny Benassi at times. It’s bangin’ shit for sure and, as Linkin Park recently proved, attempting something different doesn’t necessarily result in derision, rather this is an opportunity for IPS to expand and refine their sound.
