Just poppy enough to be a giggle, just goth enough to have a bit of edge, and just eccentric enough to never get boring,
Haunts' self-titled debut is a rather precipitous affair, frequently threatening to sound a little too much like indie also-rans
Boy Kill Boy, but consistently just about getting away with it. Certainly opener
London's Burning is as entertaining a piece of throwaway pop as you'll hear all year, skipping from
Hammer Horror growling to pomp rock harmonies without compromising its everyman charm one iota. Nobody in their right mind should buy this before they've fully plundered
