Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly - Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly

Rating: 7

Sam Duckworth’s third fulllength certainly dips a toe into a genre or two. The selftitled offering, which took Mr Get Cape two years to compile, listens like an aural brainstorming session or pasteboard of sorts. Experimenting with drum and bass beats one moment, veering towards Frank Turner-esque offerings in another and enlisting the help of Senegalese singer Baaba Maal makes for something of a musical smorgasbord. Upbeat yet thoughtful, joyous yet contemplative, all the bases are covered here. Fans will be satisfied with a fresh crop of intelligent storytelling and driven, heartfelt performances.
