Fake Problems - Real Ghosts Caught On Tape

Rating: 8

Florida quartet Fake Problems cancelled a UK tour to make this record. ‘Real Ghosts Caught On Tape’, their third full-length, is more than satisfactory compensation. It’s some what tempered in comparison to its excellent predecessor ‘It’s Great To Be Alive’, but it doesn’t suffer for it. ‘RSVP’, for example, is what Two Gallants might sound like in a jauntier mood. They’re becoming an increasingly hard band to categorise; their altcountry indie-rock is not an obvious match with the punk circles in which they mix. As evidenced in the likes of ‘Done With Fun’, though, they don’t need affiliation with a crowd to shine.
