That
Ex Libras formed in a library isn’t immediately obvious from their music but when you’ve listened to ‘Suite(s)’ a few times it makes perfect sense. It’s an album that’s all about building and then shattering tension. Even on the gorgeous but ludicrously titled ‘Phat Knickers’, all sleepy synths and crackling atmospherics, you can almost see somebody’s pen slowly rolling towards the edge of a table and suddenly falling off. Equally the last track, ‘19:04’, which finishes off the glitchy electronica and tentative piano with a hurricane of feedback is the ideal catharsis; an orgy on top of the periodicals and a quick bonfire of the
Jeffrey Archer’s.
