Dualist - We Are You

London’s Dualist have poured all their pennies into the future of their band – and Joy Division records. Self-funded debut ‘We Are You’ is an important milestone, therefore, and it points to a potentially bright future – if they can achieve this atmospheric blurring of Interpol and Editors on a shoestring, it’s interesting to think what they could do with more time in the studio. However, the songs themselves are a little too derivative and lack a vital punch: even the better tracks such as ‘Listen’ and ‘Today Or Another’ hit the mark for a couple of minutes before outstaying their welcome.
