With song titles such as ‘Fire Crotch’ and ‘Cocaine Avalanche’, it’s safe to say that Dr. Acula (geddit?!) don’t take themselves all that seriously. Plying a brand of deathcore less generic than the likes of Emmure yet not as inventive as, say, Suicide Silence, the band splice their songs with clips from horror movies to add a definite degree of darkness to the mayhem. The aforementioned ‘Cocaine Avalanche’ is perhaps the album’s highlight, big riffs piled on top of frenetic vocal patterns, rather like Every Time I Die crossed with Arsonists Get All The Girls. It needs to be heard to be believed!
