Die So Fluid - The World Is Too Big For One Lifetime

Rating: 7

The 90s are back, so as frontgal Grog’s vocals stagger their way through this album it’s unsurprising that she balances some hefty 7 Year Bitch and L7 singing with the nu metal / goth dissonance of My Ruin, before DSF arrive at their own sound. The centrepiece here is ‘Storm’ where the band play to their strengths, pulling off the feat of mixing rip roaring guitar solos with a darker undertow. ‘Hearts Are Hollow’ follows suit while ‘How Vampires Kiss’ and ‘Raven’ are inspiringly melancholic. Though they hit the musical nail on the head however, Die So Fluid are a band who will remain a cult concern.
