Day Of The Sirens - A Kiss From Nyx

Rating: 8

They may have only been kicking around for the best part of 12 months, but Essex-based Day Of The Sirens have outstrided themselves with second EP ‘A Kiss From Nyx’. For a band so fresh on the scene, it’s a surprisingly accomplished attempt at euphoric emo-rock (see Emarosa, Circa Survive) – big on riffs, generous on melody and certainly not lacking in balls. ‘Home Is A Working Title’ commands attention by the collar of the neck and there’s little breathing space allowed for the successive 20 minutes. Epic, gloriously melodic and spacious, this is a commendable display of early talent from Day Of The Sirens – we told you they were ones to watch this year!
