Dave Hause - Resolutions

Rating: 8

Philadephian troubadour and The Loved Ones’ frontman Dave Hause steps away from the punk rock pace of his day job on this debut solo full-length, and what he’s produced paints him as a far more viable band-dude-come-solo artist than many others of recent years. ‘Resolutions’ dips its toes in many waters with success; ‘C’mon Kid’’s country vibes and ‘Prague (Revive Me)’’s big-band undercurrent are just as effective as the more straightforward ‘Melanin’ and ‘Pray For Tuscon’. If you’re sick to death of acoustic-led solo efforts, steer well clear, but for those inclined, ‘Resolutions’ is an honest, open and fulfilling addition to the music shelf.
