One of metal’s most underrated bands receive the short shrift on this double-edged reissue of these two superb slabs of heaviness. Not remastered? No bonus tracks, demos live tracks or anything? That the score above is so high is testament to the quality of the material on offer. A band unafraid to evolve in order to play to the strengths of their ever-rotating line-up, the Sabbath meets Skynyrd feel of ‘Deliverance’ and ‘Wiseblood’ are generally considered COC’s finest moments, and, if you go to the right clubs, the likes of ‘Drowning In A Daydream’ and ‘Clean My Wounds’ are still celebrated today.
