Chris Shiflett & The Dead Peasants - Chris Shiflett & The Dead Peasants

Rating: 7

Best known as the Foo Fighters’ trusty six-stringer, with The Dead Peasants Chris Shiflett adds yet another string to his impressive and varied musical bow (see No Use For A Name, Me First And The Gimme Gimmes, Jackson United). Looking to Americana influences sees Shiflett’s latest project incorporate the longing of pedal-steel guitars with the twinkling of a mandolin and delightful guitar-twanged interludes. Country influenced tales of woe spill through his narrative, conjuring up images of the frontman perched on a wooden porch, rocking back and forth.
