Broadway Calls - ‘Good Views, Bad News’

Rating: 8

Double-layered guitar chords, punching drums and soaring vocal melodies can only mean one thing in this day and age: - the latest Bill Stevenson-produced wonder-punk release from Middle America has hit the airwaves! Yes, Descendents’ perennial sticksman and producer extraordinaire (NOFX, A Wilhelm Scream, Smoke Or Fire) just keeps on setting the standard, and ‘Good Views…’ really is no different. Credit where it is due to the band of course, the likes of ‘Basement Royalty’ rocking with a melodic quality akin to some of Lake Michigan’s finest, vocalist Ty Vaughn’s ‘woahs’ soaring to grand heights amongst three chords and a whole load of heart. Super!

Oli Robertson
