Colourful jokers
AGATG have toned down the eccentric
Mr Bungle craziness which dominated 07s ‘The Game Of Life’. Sure they do unleash frantic nonsense bursts of circular bass and guitar riffs (‘The 42nd Ego’), but mostly they’re now focused on mid-paced, pit friendly hardcore heft, albeit with added space-synth (‘Skiff For The Suits’). The settings on the weirdo goof-ray have certainly been dimmed throughout and the untimely death of bassist
Patrick Mason and departure of vocalist
Cameron Reed could have something to do with that style shift. ADD problems now mostly sorted they’re still lacking originality and good tunes. Average.
