All Leather - ‘Hung Like A Horse’

Rating: 9

In the dingy middle ground notionally separating Justin Pearson's San Diego spazzcore insectoids The Locust and a gay bondage bar writhe his latest project All Leather. Rather than the Judas Priest tribute act that name suggests, though, the trio take the anti-macho hardcore of Pearson and guitarist Nathan Joyner's previous side concern Some Girls and inject dirty great synth bottom end to the sleazy shebang, with a side order of homophobia-challenging humour. Five face-splattering EP tunes like 'I Don't Hate Fags, God Does' do a fairly good job of surmising the atmosphere by title alone; brilliantly gutter-filthy electro-punk to soundtrack rampant, unapologetic hedonism.
