After The Fall - Eradication

Rating: 8

New York hardcore punk trio After The Fall waste no time in setting out their stall here; ‘Soldiers’ and ‘Ruins’ are a fiery double introduction to the band’s latest full-length record, the followup to last year’s ‘Fort Orange’. The 14 tracks on ‘Eradication’ showcase a band with one foot in the old-school of 80s hardcore punk, all blasting beats and righteous indignation, whilst the other lies in more modern waters and resembles something approaching Fat Mike fronting Rise Against. With energy in abundance and a very pronounced melodic edge, this is a very tightly wound and highly impressive record that’s definitely worthy of further investigation.
