The Audition enlist an as-yet unnamed producer and start work on album three. Click for all the details.
Rock Sound can exclusively confirm that The Audition are writing their third album less than a year after the release of 'Champion' but the band have not enlisted Sum 41 guitarist and vocalist Deryck Whibley to produce the as-yet untitled effort. Drummer Ryan O'Connor posted the following message to explain the situation:
''So yea, when I did the interview with Rock Sound a month ago Deryck and us were talking about working together. Things didnt work out and it's not going to happen. Deryck is a great musician and producer and I wish it would of worked out. BUT, we are in the studio with another producer who we couldn't be more excited to be working with! Drums start today, I have to get back to work. News on who we are working with is coming soon.''
The drummer originally told Rock Sound the following about The Audition's intention to work with Whibley:
''We talked to a bunch of producers before we got hooked up with Deryck from Sum 41. We hit it off instantly, he has a totally different outlook than any other producer we have worked with, he is really all about song writing and making sure all the songs are ready and that we have taken our time to put everything into them. We're sure it'll work out great.''
