Indiana pop-punks are drafted in as a late addition to the festival bill.
After last week's news that Goldfinger have sadly had to pull out of their upcoming UK dates, Slam Dunk Festival have now announced their replacement. And it's good news for fans of early noughties pop-punk, as Indiana's The Ataris will be stepping in to fill the void.
A message from festival booker Ben Ray confirming the news reads as follows:
"NEWSFLASH!... We are super stoked to announce another artist to the bill. Another pop punk heavy weight in the shape of The Ataris!
Also Mike Herrera, who was in fact playing bass for Goldfinger, is now obviously unable to come over to play on the acoustic stage, but thankfully an old friend of ours has agreed to come back to perform.. Chas Palmer-Williams from Lightyear!
In other news... Slam Dunk Festival North in Leeds, is getting very low on tickets and should sell out soon! Please get your tickets now if you are planning on going to avoid disappointment!
Have a good bank holiday weekend, Ben."
Let's just hope there's none of this, eh?
Slam Dunk Festival takes place at the following venues across the Bank Holiday Weekend in May:
24 - LEEDS University
25 - HERTFORDSHIRE Forum
26 - WOLVERHAMPTON Civic
Further to that, two smaller dates have been announced: Slam Dunk Wales and Slam Dunk Scotland. We Are The In Crowd, Hit The Lights, Neck Deep, Decade and further special guests will perform at the following:
If you didn't know, Defeater / Alcoa frontman and all-round top bloke Derek Archambault is in need of a new hip. The good news is a LOT of people have been helping out by donating to his PledgeMusic campaign. Are you one of them?
