Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor tells Rock Sound about his future plans with Slipknot and Stone Sour.
Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor spoke to Rock Sound at Sonisphere 09 to discuss how his UK debut solo show was received:
"I was ready for the set, I don't really think anyone else was though," the frontman admitted in the backstage area. "Everyone kept asking me what was I going to play! I mean, it's an acoustic set, I couldn't go out and do a cover of 'South Of Heaven'. But everyone relaxed and enjoyed it in the end, this whole gig was about fun."
Naturally Rock Sound asked what Slipknot's plans are for the rest of the year, will we see Corey Taylor wearing a mask in the UK before 2009 finishes? The answer...
"Err, I don't know to be honest. We'll see. At the moment we have a couple of weeks booked in the States and a couple of one offs here and there before the cycle is done. We are already started to put together demos for Stone Sour. Our new stuff sounds real melodic but real dark, it is way darker than the first two albums and way more cohesive. I don't know what it is, I'm still flushing shit out."
Christmas is coming, which mean the actual newsy news is slowing down. Instead, we spent most of the week dicking about with the Is This Band Emo? website and watching this happy deathcore video over and over. Here's some other stuff that doesn't much matter.
