In 2011 The King Blues made sure they backed up every last word and sentiment expressed on third album 'Punk & Poetry'. Did everyone appreciate their dedication to the cause? Erm, it would appear not...
“Some people no longer play our music and I’ve had a number of interviews and reviews cancelled because people have asked me not to talk about politics and not to speak my mind,” admits singer Itch. “But that is part of being a political band, you know it’s going to be a fight all the time. There have been a lot of doors that got shut in our faces this year, but at the same time the venues we play are still growing and new people are coming out to see us live. Overall I feel proud, it’s like we put out an album that became something more as time went on.”
