Dillinger Escape Plan

Dillinger Escape PlanJohnny Depp will be playing John Dillinger in a new movie called Public Enemies that tells the story of the FBI's fight with Dillinger and his gang in Chicago during the Great Depression of the 1930's.

Some of the film was shot on location in Crown Point, Indiana, the town where Dillinger was imprisoned and subsequently escaped from jail. This means the film will feature the legendary Dillinger Escape Plan, so you know who Rock Sound asked about the movie don't you...

''Depp is one of the great actors of our time so I'm excited to see him play Dillinger of course,'' Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Ben Weinman replied when contacted by Rock Sound. ''But we do not have any involvement with the movie. Everyone is like 'why aren't you guys doing the soundtrack for that film?' and 'are you guys going to be in it?' blah blah blah. Who do they think we are? Some band with a real manager and ambition to actually go out there and try to do something promotionally good for ourselves? I don't think Johnny is exactly sitting around listening to Dillinger. He probably only likes rare tribal music and Tom Waits.''

Rock Sound is trying to get Depp's people to confirm the tribal music bit, check out the trailer for Public Enemies below:
