Rock Sound recently spoke to The Blackout about the possibilities of a new label and a new album, vocalist Sean Smith had this to say about things:

''We have written six storming songs so far and we should be ready to record later this year with a possible release early next year. We are talking to a few labels at the moment; a few indies, the odd American label and then one, maybe two major labels have enquired. We are going to wait to see what happens, all I know is that we are currently writing what can only be described as The Blackout's best album since 'We Are The Dynamite'.''
