Spider-Man Broadway Show Is Devine
Mat Devine drops us a note from the dressing room of the new Spider-man Broadway show as the preview run gets underway.
The new Broadway show, Spider-man Turn Off The Dark, has started its preview run and Rock Sound got in touch with Grim Hunter aka Kill Hannah's Mat Devine to find out how it's going. Good, it appears, is the answer:
"Previews for Spiderman Turn Off the Dark are underway and it really is a spectacle," the singer told us on email. "It's fun to see some jaded old men in the audience gasp like little kids. My dressing room is shared with a Brit, (M.Thomas from Britannia High) and his impossibly-charming accent makes me miss the UK fans terribly.
The rest of the cast and creative team are wildly talented and outgoing, so one stays continuously inspired, and always on alert for some quick, intelligent jab or some groping or dry humping of some sort.
I've traded my Jack Daniels for green tea for a while, so my vocal health stays up to the new challenges - and I see two vocal coaches per week. Also, as opposed to various hotel rooms on tour, I actually wake up in the same bed, at the same time each day now. Is this what its like to be an adult? With a JOB? Fuckin' scary. Feeling incredibly lucky for the experience, and excited to tour when the run is over."
