Sonisphere 2010: Bring Me The Horizon
Bring Me The Horizon chat life in the fast lane.
They've conquered the American market playing Warped this summer, but the band's sights are still firmly fixed on their UK fan base. Preparing to support Bullet For My Valentine on their UK arena tour, Oli tells us why he's more than a little "stoked":
"This will be our first time playing Wembley so we're really happy. And Bullet are the biggest band in the world at the moment especially in terms of metal. So we're really excited to be playing with them, and to making some new fans. Hopefully we won't be getting too many bottles thrown at us, I imagine there will be people who don't like us, but there will also be cross over appeal with their fans, but yeah, we might have to convert a few people."
Of the band's third album Oli told us he was happy to start playing the new tracks live.
"In September we're playing in Australia and Japan, and we'll probably play a new song or two there, but in England when we play our headline tour in September the album will have just come out so fans won't know it too well. But come December they'll know the material better, but yeah, it'll be good to play a few new ones. It's cool that we can still play the old songs but there's a lot more depth to the new material and we're going to step up in a lot of ways."
The band have also been chronicling their experiences of playing Warped Tour through video, which Oli claims is full of "shinfo" moments.
"My brother has been editing footage, and filming us doing stupid shit. It's all 'shinfo' and it's also all stuff that's only really funny to us. Backflips into swimming pools, people telling you how to kill other people..." he laughs.
"By the time we've finished Warped we'll have been there for about six weeks, it's a huge tour, but that's gone really quickly. Everyone is so friendly out there, which is cool, even if we don't love the music."
Still the band had time to hit the UK to play today, explaining:
"It was our only real chance we got because we've been so busy with the album. I came to Sonisphere last year, and hile it's not rock'n'roll to say it, it's a really well organised festival."
