Good-time Mancunians Sonic Boom Six are giving away their 2006 acoustic EP, 'BabyBoom' for free to every member of their mailing list.
The decision comes in the wake of the recent debate on online piracy, triggered by proposals for SOPA in the US and other anti-piracy laws. Those against the laws argued that illegally downloading music for free encourages more people to pay to see bands play live, so it actually makes money for the bands.
Sonic Boom Six, being an open-minded bunch, have decided to see if there's any truth in this idea, hence the freebie. If they sell out their upcoming tour, the pro-piracy camp will be proved right. That's science.
