Rage Against The Machine: Christmas Number One
The Rage Against The Machine campaign turns up another notch as the band appear on radio to talk about the single.
This morning the Rage Against The Machine for Christmas Number One campaign went into overdrive.
All four members of the band appeared on Five Live to talk about their 'rebel anthem' and their excitement about the UK campaign to get the track 'Killing In The Name' to the top of the charts for Christmas. Want to listen to the interview? Click here.
We've been following the rise of the single on the site and rumours are that the Rage track is still ahead of X Factor winner Joe McElderry's rival single.
Also, Rock Sound recently received an email from Betfair announcing that the odds on a non X Factor single as Christmas Number One have been slashed! Their statement said:
"The chances of a non-X Factor No. 1 now odds-on. Days ago, McElderry was as short as 1-6 on to be announced as a chart-topper this Sunday yet now his odds amazingly stand at Evens, with the price of a non-X Factor Xmas song triumphing just 10-11."
The company have admitted that they "were aware that the online campaign was gathering pace, yet even so, the dramatic development of Joe no longer being the favourite is a major surprise. Sunday’s announcement now looks like being one of the most anticipated Christmas chart shows of recent times.”
Cor blimey. More as we get it.
