Placebo Frontman Discusses Fear Of Flying
Brian Molko tells Rock Sound about his past problems with planes.
Placebo frontman Brian Molko has told Rock Sound about coming to terms with his fear of flying as the band stare down a world tour in support of new album 'Battle For The Sun':
''When I was a kid I was raised a born again Christian,'' Molko admits. ''So whenever I used to fly a lot around Europe I used with my Mum who was the person who got me into Jesus.
When I stopped believing in God I had this huge fear of flying that came out of no where. I used to have to get ridiculously drunk in order to even get on the plane and of course that led to a whole bunch of different problems once I was onboard. To this day I can’t watch any films with plane crashes or anything like that in it whatsoever, I can’t watch anything that involves anything going wrong on a plane, I can’t watch news reports of plane crashes and I don’t read articles in the paper about plane crashes.''
More on Placebo in future editions of Rock Sound Magazine, 'Battle For The Sun' will be released on June 8th.
