Pelican Hail New Album A Triumph
Guitarist Laurent Schroeder-Lebec tells Rock Sound that the band's new album was 'fun and fulfilling'.
Pelican are gearing up to release their fourth album 'What We All Come to Need', due for release on October 26 through Southern Lord Records.
Rock Sound recently got guitarist Laurent Schroeder-Lebec to tell us a bit about the work.
“I view it as the next step in our oeuvre," he said. "It is a chapter, a reflection on two years, a vignette in our lives. We'll have many more. This one feels like our zeitgeist ... that is it reflects perfectly on what was happening in our little world recently. I am most proud of this one because the recording process was uniformly fun and fulfilling. I am also proud of Bryan [Herweg, bass] contributing songs and thereby a new perspective to bolster creativity. I am also in awe of Larry's [Herweg, drums] contributions here -- I think in general the rhythm section sounds awesome. And Trevor [de Brauw] laid some of my favorite melodies on the songs. So all in all, I feel like it's a triumph.”
Head to the band's Myspace page to hear new track 'Strung Up From The Sky'.
