My Passion Headline The Next Secret Session
Joined by Exit Ten, Glamour Of The Kill and Don Broco at the Barfly on Monday!
After another week of clues we're pleased to confirm that My Passion will be headlining Rock Sound's next Sonisphere Secret Session in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.
MP will be joined by three fine British bands Glamour Of The Kill, Exit Ten and Don Broco at London's Barfly venue on Monday June 27 and frontman Laurence René is up for it big time.
"It’s nice to have a reunion with people that you’ve been out with on tour in the past," he told us recently. "I think it’s gonna be a bit like playing a tiny, mini festival in London as it’s going to have a really good vibe about it! We want it to be a really special event and something that people remember!"
Tickets are sold out, doors to the venue will open at 7.00pm and My Passion will be offstage by 11.00pm. The show is 14+, please bring ID.
And now the really important bit, why we are doing this. All profits raised from the Secret Sessions will be donated to Teenage Cancer Trust. Not sure what they do? Let us help you out there: music plays a huge part in many young adults’ lives and Teenage Cancer Trust remains dedicated to raising funds and awareness through its various musical channels. It’s important to make each Teenage Cancer Trust ward an environment in which the patients can thrive in, whether that’s through music events or meeting new people. A young person’s chance of survival increases if they’re treated on a ward that’s tailored to their needs, so meeting other people their age who they can relate to is important for their physical health and psychological well-being. So how does all this help to make a difference? Six young people aged 13-24 are told they have cancer each day, and though that may sound like a small number it totals up to approximately 2,100 per year. Though roughly three-quarters of these patients recover, not everyone is so fortunate and that’s where the funds of Teenage Cancer Trust come in (and hence why we are putting on these shows).
