Download 2010: Five Finger Death Punch Playing Combat Rock
Five Finger Death Punch tell Rock Sound they have been filling the time between European festivals with secret gigs for US Troops serving overseas...
Fresh offstage at Download 2010, Five Finger Death Punch have been telling Rock Sound about the top secret shows they have been playing in Europe during the last few weeks:
"We've been visiting bases and playing shows for the Troops while we've been in Europe," vocalist Ivan Moody admitted. "It's crazy tight on the security, we only get told the location of the base we are playing on the morning of the show. The Troops aren't allowed to form a moshpit either, they are told just to stand there and watch us play, we love doing it though and we're doing a couple here in the UK while we're over for Download. Can't tell you where though!"
Their set ended unexpectedly, though, when the vast number of crowd-surfers congregated in the photo pit right in front of the stage. The band were informed that unless the crowd disperse they'd have the plug pulled on them; thankfully for the crowd at large and FFDP, everyone left safely and the set continued so they could play their final song.
"I'm on your side - but get back in the crowd!" yelled frontman Ivan Moody, who looked anything but moody throughout their raucous set.
