Enter ShikariEnter Shikari’s Rou Reynolds has told Rock Sound about the meaning behind the band’s new album ‘Common Dreads’.

“An album title is quite a big thing to discuss and there were a lot of arguments and all that kind of stuff over its name. But we eventually started looking through the lyrics and we came across ‘Common Dreads’ which we felt summed up what it was all about. The common concerns that people are feeling all over the world, and which will unite them. There’s so much going on that we are all collectively worried about, and that’s a shared feeling that we tap into.”

Rou also told Rock Sound how the spoken word section on the song ‘Juggernauts’ has resulted in fans saying the band sound like The Streets!

“We couldn’t believe the amount of people who were saying: ‘Oh my god, he sounds like the guy from The Streets, which was quite funny. But yeah, we like The Streets, we like The King Blues I guess the more direct influences have been spoken words and rappers from London, well you only really hear about The Streets if you’re not into rap or whatever, but one of our main influences was ‘Lo’Key’ who is an important UK hip hop artist who is around. But I guess someone speaking in a London type accent is bound to sound similar.”
