earthtone9 - Back From The Dead?
Nottingham's finest announce free compilation...
Nottingham’s earthtone9 are set to release a free compilation album in July. Spanning the band’s career from 1998-2002, it features 16 tracks and will be available for free from the band’s website.
“Most of our releases are hard to find now, so we thought that a compilation would be a cool reminder of what we were about,” says vocalist Karl Middleton. “The tunes that we’ve chosen are the ones that either still stand up or have an extra special place in our hearts…or both. I'm sure that some people will disagree with our choices, and that's cool, but we wrote the songs so we know best.”
“This is not a rebirth,” laughs bassist Dave Anderson. “We just got old and wise enough to appreciate that we did something pretty good together, and it was worth celebrating. We’re not reforming as such. More reconnecting as friends, and leaving ourselves open to the occasional show to remind people that we fucking ruled once.”
As well as being able to download the tracks for free, there will be a special limited edition digi-pack CD featuring fantastic new artwork by Sam Hales, which will be available to purchase for £5.99
Rumour has it that the band are coming out of retirement to play some UK festival dates this year but this has not yet been confirmed.
