Dutch Schultz Not Sexist According To Dutch Schultz
Northern Irish rockers Dutch Schultz have been accused of sexist behaviour. They are not happy.
Northern Irish rockers Dutch Schultz have been accused of sexist behaviour at a recent show and released the following statement defending their actions:
''Northern Ireland rock band Dutch Schultz remain adamant that no “sexist” behaviour occurred during a recent performance at a Belfast city centre venue. The band who took to the stage flagged by two semi naked girls, proceeded to perform for half an hour while the women pole danced throughout.
Dutch Schultz frontman and author of such tracks as ‘L.A C*ntf*cker’ and ‘It Bends In The Middle’ (a song about the male organ) is unapologetic about performing alongside the “scantily clad playgirls”.
“It’s an art” says singer Willy Mundell. “We hope to do it again too. There’s nothing more empowering about 2 girls exploiting their sexuality, that’s why we featured Jo (finalist representing the UK in the world Pole Dancing championships later in the year) to be in the video for ‘It Bends In The Middle’”. The video show’s Larne girl Joanna Robinson parade in heels and underwear, gyrating throughout the song while the band perform dressed as women.
“It’s not going to deter us” Mundell continued. “We’re doing a string of HMV ‘in stores’ in February and we’ll be bringing the girls with us. If you think it’s sexist then you’re stupid, and I love punishing stupid people by throwing reality back in their face.”
Several complaints were made by venue staff while members of the audience stormed out of the concert, challenging other audience members as they left.
No comment has been made by the venue or the promoter.''
