Funeral For A Friend

Funeral For A FriendWith their fifth studio album ‘Welcome Home Armageddon’ ensuring Funeral For A Friend aren’t worth forgetting about just yet, Wales’ premier riff-meisters are enjoying something of a return to form as of late. Their headline set on Download’s Pepsi Max Stage this Saturday is something we’re all a wee bit excited about here at RS, and drummer / vocalist Ryan Richards is equally forthcoming:

”The record’s been really warmly received and the tour we just finished was one of the most enjoyable that we’ve done for a long time. There seems to be a really good vibe, not just within the band but from our fans towards us. It feels like a good time to be putting ourselves out there.”

While they may quibble at the word ‘comeback’, Ryan assures us the Funeral machine is firing on all cylinders, and this weekend will be no exception:

“There’s definitely an element of a resurgence and I feel more confident and happier with where we are as a band in terms of the music we’re playing and the show we can put on. It feels good to be fighting for people’s attention again.”

Will Funeral For A Friend prove to be one of the highlights of your Download weekend? Find out when they play the Pepsi Max Stage on Saturday June 11 at 21.10.
