Download 2010: Your Demise – “It’s Good To Be The Odd One Out”
This weekend might be the best metalfest of the year so far, but hardcore is infiltrating thanks to the St Albans bruisers Your Demise.
Donington is the home of metal, right? So what are hardcore mob Your Demise doing here?
Before this afternoon’s set on the Pepsi Max Stage, frontman Ed McRae told Rock Sound he likes not fitting into the over-arching theme of Download 2010.
He said: “I like being the odd one out. All the people who aren’t into metal will come and watch us. Kids come here regardless of whether or not they like the music, they just want to get drunk. And there aren’t just metal bands playing over the weekend!
“How do we put together a festival set? Pick a song and play it. This show is the last time we’re playing this set as the next time we’re in the UK the album will have come out.”
