Dillinger Escape Plan Guitarist Talks Cut Throat Tactics
Ben Weinman talks up his latest venture with members of Thursday and Ink & Dagger.
Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Ben Weinman has been talking to Rock Sound about Cut Throat Tactics, his collaboration with Thursday vocalist Geoff Rickley, Ink & Dagger guitarist Don Devore and bass Joshua Brown.
"I've been playing drums for Cut Throat Tactics," he told us recently. "We actually started recording this weekend it was great to push myself with another instrument, I have always played drums and written drum parts for Dillinger but actually pushing myself with a new instrument has been pretty sick."
"We are just getting ready to put out a 7” and the mindset for the project is totally old school; let's make music together, put it out and not worry about signing to some giant label. Let's just put it out there, have people check it out and play some shows."
How does it sound? "The songs so far are wicked as shit," Weinman admits. "Super snotty and tons of attitude, I think there is a little lack of that right now."
