Biffy Clyro Single Starts Chart Climb
'Many Of Horror' is perched just outside the download chart top ten as internet campaign gains momentum.
As expected the Matt Cardle cover of Biffy Clyro's 'Many Of Horror' (retitled 'When We Collide' for some reason) has leapt to the top of the iTunes singles chart.
After a fair amount of internet chatter the original version has climbed all the way to Number 11 in the same chart over the last 24 hours. However, despite the rather rapid progress bookmakers are still not giving odds for the original version to win the Christmas chart battle. Betfair have confirmed that there is no option to bet on Biffy in the current market as Cardle is 1-5 favourite to be in the number one position this Sunday with the closest contender being 'Surfin Bird' by The Trashmen (at 4-1). Will that change in the next day or two?
No matter what happens next in the race for Christmas number one Biffy are clearly going do rather well out of it all (and why not too). This link reports that the band will get up to £25,000 in writing royalties from Cardle's sales and £125 every time the cover is played on the radio, that equates to a flipping nice festive bonus in our book!
