All Time Low Defend Co-Writing
All Time Low tell Rock Sound that collaborating with outside sources to write songs is fine with them.
All Time Low have spoken to Rock Sound about their thoughts on the co-writing trend that is increasingly prevalent in rock music today.
Bands increasingly collaborate with producers, other artists and external songwriters to create their music and a number of songs on All Time Low's new album 'Nothing Personal' were created using that process.
"I think it is acceptable and I think it is so common in this day and age. We have our ideas, we write songs and we have people to guide us and give us advice," frontman Alex Gaskarth admitted recently in an interview. "The view that it is a new thing is completely skewed in my opinion. The Beatles co-wrote, Elvis co-wrote, a whole load of other artists co-wrote. It is what it is."
What do you think? Does it matter if a band doesn't write every note, line and lyric on every album? Leave us a comment at the end of the story with your views...
