AidenAiden's frontman wiL Francis has told Rock Sound that people are going to be, like, "woh, what the fuck?!?" when they hear the band's new album.

"It's going to be totally different from 'Nightmare Anatomy'," he enthused. "You'll still be able to hear, 'Oh that's Aiden', but it's going to be a lot different than stuff we've done in the past. I haven't listened to any current bands for about a year now. I've been focusing on writing this new album and listening to stuff that's really old. Rolling Stones, Beatles, Joy Division, Bauhaus, The Cure... stuff like that. The music scene these days is so stagnant and stale because so many bands just draw inspiration from bands that are out right now. I really just want to break free of that and make something that's timeless."

Aiden's career takes another step forward this month with the band supporting Lostprophets on their arena tour and wiL says he still finds it hard to believe how things have taken off.

"It's been nuts," he told us. "A couple of years ago people didn't know who we were and didn't care, and in the past year people have been really supporting our band and that's a miracle for me. It's so fucking great."

Some of this new-found euphoria may even finds its way on to the new record.

"There's a change of scenery," he said. "Some of the songs are still about dark things and shit that I've gone through, but there are other songs. When I wrote 'Nightmare Anatomy' I was in a really dark place and now, this past year and a half, two years, there's been a lot of change in my life. I wrote a couple of love songs and I've never written love songs before. I'm real excited about it."

Expect a summer release for the album; see gig guide for tour dates.
