30 Seconds To Mars

30 Seconds To MarsIt would seem the glossy, high-budget 20-minute video / art-project for 30 Seconds To Mars' new single 'Hurricane' won't be shown on TV because it's too graphic.

Luckily the internet exists, and all sorts of sordid filth is available for your viewing pleasure 24/7 without MTV's censors deciding we're not allowed to see a "large breasted lady in a bra and gas mask" or even "gimp man with woman in gas mask and bondage harness". Spoilsports.

Jared Leto has posted a letter detailing 'Hurricane''s transgressions on his blog, and if you read it from the top it's a pretty hilarious description of what goes on in the video. So far we understand there are gimps, g-strings, an anus being touched, a rabbi, some bondage banter and, most shockingly, a "shot of a domestic knife". And don't forget the "threatening man in gimp mask with sledge hammer".

The full uncut version of the video will be shown online at some point this week. And for all you cynics out there, it's not like Leto and co are acutely aware the internet was always going to be where most people saw the clip and so made something deliberately provocative so as to ensure it'd get banned and court even more publicity. Definitely not.
