Alkaline TrioAlkaline Trio recently announced that they would be entering the studio to re-record some of their classic songs for a new album to celebrate their fifteenth anniversary as a band.

Talking to Rock Sound singer and guitarist Matt Skiba admitted he was excited that the band's decision to do this project had been greeted so well by fans. "It always is a pleasant surprise that people still love and care about our band," he said before confirming that "the record is now done, we've picked and recorded the songs so the fighting has ceased."

"We have put a new spin on all of the songs, old and new. To be honest we fucked with every song on there pretty good," he continued as he hinted at the possibility of touring a set designed specifically round these re-imagined songs. "There has been talk of that but not confirmation yet," he stated coyly.

Skiba finished off by promising that new material from the band will be appearing sooner rather than later. "We are all working on solo efforts at the moment but I'm sure it won't be long before the Trio starts writing new songs for a new record. We can never seem to sit still for too long. "
