Dave Grohl is an icon for all the right reasons. He’s made some of the best albums of the past 25 years and is one of the most in-demand musicians in the world and yet, if you want to have a beer with him backstage all you need to do is offer him a cold one and he’ll gladly hang out and talk about old hardcore; he is, basically, a mighty dude.
In the new look issue of Rock Sound we talk to Dave about the Foo Fighters’ rise from garage-band noisemakers to stadium kings and then back to the garage as they prepare to release their new album, the brilliant ‘Wasting Light’. “It’s important that people recognise you as a human being, that you’re a good person and that music is only part of it,” he says.
FREE with this month’s issue is a Silverstein / There For Tomorrow EP + Rock Sound CD + giant Download Festival poster featuring Avenged Sevenfold and Bullet For My Valentine.
