“We’re writing for the next album now, and I think that’s something a lot of bands screw up – they don’t understand what they’ve done right and what resonated with people," says With Confidence man Jayden Seeley ahead of his band's UK headline tour.
"I like to think our songs are pretty catchy, but at the same time, we always try to balance that with being honest and, at the core of it, to write emotional music. That kind of sound seems to be booming in the UK, though we didn’t know that before we released the album!”
“I don’t like to set myself up for disappointment!” he laughs a little later when Rock Sound asks about their upcoming headliner thousands of miles from home.
But even though With Confidence played in front of thousands of people when supporting 5 Seconds Of Summer in Australia, he hopes this tour will live up to the first time the band played the Camden Underworld in London almost a year ago.
“We walked out,” he remembers, “and people just started singing and crowdsurfing straight away. All these people on the other side of the world were singing our songs back to us. It was an incredibly special moment.”
Catch up with the band and find out more about that tour in this month's magazine!
