"This is your future, don't just throw it all away."

Say hello to Rare Futures. The band (née) Happy Body Slow Brain is fronted by former Taking Back Sunday man Matt Fazzi.

The band do swelling, melodic rock up there with the best of them, and their new song 'This Is Your Future' also features former TBS bassist Matt Rubano.

Oh, and you can hear it below.

Cool, huh? The track has an inspiring message behind it, too.

"This Is Your Future" is a self-help song I wrote to pull myself out of a depression I was going through relating to my struggles pursuing music," explains Matt.

"At the time when I wrote it, I was dealing with starting over and finding my identity again as a musician and I wasn't sure if I wanted to stay on the same path or say goodbye to my passion to find a new direction because my previous experiences had been so taxing.

"I needed something to lift me up and shake off the negative energy that I was carrying, and the mantra that kept coming back to me was, 'this is your future, don't just throw it all away' which I then built the rest of the song around.

"The message when I listen back to the song is simple: YOU are the keeper and controller of your own destiny, nobody is responsible for your happiness but you."

Want more? We thought you might. Rare Futures' new album 'This Is Your Brain On Love' is out on March 25, and available for pre-order now.
