Your Demise

Your Demise’s New Vocalist Speaks Your Demise have announced that vocalist George Noble has left the band and been replaced by former Centurion man Ed McRae (see the snap on the right).

Rock Sound got in touch with Ed for his first interview as the new frontman of Your Demise...

So, how did this all come about then?

"It was quite weird really, James Tailbee the band's drummer rang me about something completely different. He was calling me to see if I was free to hang out, I was so I walked down to the bus stop and then Stu [Paice, guitarist] called me asking if I want to be in Your Demise. I said yeah, alright."

Did you know George was leaving?

"I had no idea, I was going to hairdressing college one day and the next I was in a band."

Have you spoken to George since this has happened?

"I don't know the guy on a personal level, I know of him and my old band played a few shows with him but I've never really spoken to him."

When is your first show with the band?

"Saturday in Portugal, pretty mental eh! I ain't complaining."

Got all the lyrics down?

"Pretty much, since I joined the band I have only listened to Your Demise. I have not even heard another piece of music. Once we start playing shows it will come naturally to me soon enough and I will be able to listen to something else, but until then nothing but YD."

Have you even thought about making an impression on the band through new material or is it far too soon?

"It felt really natural as soon as I got to the first practice but at the moment I'm concentrating on getting my feet back, playing shows and being in a band again. When it comes to writing a new record I've got lyrics from way back and I've been writing the whole time. I've still got so much to say and so much in my head that a new album, from a lyrical perspective, will come pretty easily I think."

So what does the Your Demise live experience look like with you in the band?

"A lot of energy, a lot of crowd participation, I'll be looking to get everyone involved while doing the best I can. Hopefully fans will love it."
