Right, back to those stories...

01. New Shoes Blues
"I've been wearing the same style of trainers since I was 16 years old. When they get fucked I buy the exact same style and colour, it's just the way I like it. Sometimes for whatever reason I can't get hold of that particular shoe and I have to enter the world of choosing something else, I don't like it. It's also common knowledge that all major shoe companies have terrible morals and are probably run by evil human beings, but we all have to wear shoes, don't we? This was the thought path for this song, that and the fact the shoes rhymes with blues."

02. People Keep Making People
"I was in a traffic jam with two very intelligent academic types, we were putting the world to rights when one of them explained the problem which, in fact, leads to every single problem that we have in the world. It seemed he felt that less people would solve everything. After a brainstorming session I decided that mass genocide would sort this out, not really wanting to commit mass genocide I wrote a song instead."

03. Trainsong
"The song was a prediction of the future that came true, or perhaps a self-fulfilling prophecy. I wrote the song before heading to Bristol knowing full well that if I didn't get my pre-booked train home I'd be screwed. As with the song I missed the train, I did finally make it home, and had a good time along the way. The song is about being skint and how sometimes it's fun and sometimes it's a pain in the arse."

04. Can't Take Another Earthquake
"On March 19 2011 the moon was the closest it's been for a very long time, so close that it was called the super moon. This is a song about that."

05. All I Wanna Do Is Give You A Flower
"A love song about love songs, not actually written about any girl in particular, just love in general and why it's important.."

06. Free Nights of Riots
"England, August 2011. The kids take control and give everyone a run for their money and their mobiles. I live on a London high Street and was in the thick of it, shitting myself."

07. My New Number One
"A love song for my girlfriend Lizzy Bee, whom I love with all of my heart."

08. 2013
"I'm a believer in a spiritual revolution of man, it's close and I'd like to think that I'm ready for it. My dad pointed out to me that if it doesn't happen in 2012 I'm gonna look like a dick, this song is my get out clause."

9. Peter Pan's Playground
"I was asked to be part of a Radio 2 comedy show, normally I wouldn't be interested in being part of anything comedy related and normally radio wouldn't be interested in playing my tunes. However for the show they were putting together a variety show in Southend and it was going to be about the Essex, which is where I was born and where I grew up. They also offered me £300 which in my line of work is a lot of money. So I agreed, they then said that I couldn't sing about sex or drugs and I couldn't swear which meant I had no songs to play, but I figured for £300 I could write them a tune. It was at the same time that the whole country seemed to have an opinion about Essex cos of the TV show The Only Way is Essex, which although I've never seen I'm sure it painted a pretty crappy picture, this song was my picture."

10. Hippy Bullshit
"Ever seen the film Zeitgeist? Watch it, it'll blow your fucking mind: www.zeitgeistmovie.com."

11. Tour Blog
"I'm a big fan of country music, all decent country singers have songs about life on the road, driving, rambling and rabble-rousing. They're all great tunes and although life as a touring musician in England is very different, I still felt it deserved a song."

12. Blowjob For The Blues
"As with all my songs, this is a true story. I met a great girl, we slept together and the next day she moved to art college in Cornwall. I was cool with it, that's how it goes and to make it better I got a song out of it."
