We caught up with the band so they can introduce themselves to you...
Brief history: how did Evarose get from nothing to here?
Robyn Griffith (drums: "We have all been playing and writing music from a young age, individually and then gradually all together but re-birthed ourselves in the fountain of Evarose at the beginning of 2010."
Talk us through the songs readers will find after checking out the download card in Rock Sound Issue 138...
Connie Raitt (bass): "'Cough It Up' is a taster of what have to give to the music scene, We have just gone for a huge sound and kept the tracks really personal to us. 'Flatline' is an acoustic version which is featured on our EP, 'To Spice It Up A Little' is a taster of what our whole EP is about - our determination and passion for music and what we do. We hope people will see that through these tracks."
Dannika Webber (vocals): "Cough It Up' sums up everything about us following our dreams, and not just following the norm and what is expected from us."
Imogen Leslie (guitar): "'Flatline' embodies our passion and sometimes frustration for all the work we put into our music."
Where/when were they recorded and what are your future plans for music releases?
Robyn: "We have been recording all our tracks since may 2010 at Wrapped Up Studios in Oxford We will be releasing an EP in October called 'Creations Divide' and then looking into the future hopefully an album and loads of gigs / tours to support these releases. We want everyone to hear and give us a try and enjoy it as much as us!"
What do you think readers will like about your band?
Dannika: "We're just writing and playing music that we really do believe in. We hope people won't see us as just a 'girl band' and take us seriously for what we do. Enjoy it for what it is, come to shows and rock out with us."
What does the immediate future hold for Evarose?
Connie: "Something epic!"
Imogen: "Lots of live shows, gigging is what we really love best.
Where will the band be in five years' time?
Dannika: "Hopefully on everyone's iPods and to be really well established so we can keep doing this forever! We want to travel lots too."
