You’ve Never Seen This Side Of Jared Leto Before…

The 30 Seconds To Mars singer surprises us all in the new issue of Rock Sound, out tomorrow!

I’ve interviewed Jared Leto numerous times over the years and, despite conversing on a semi-regular basis, until a month ago I still knew relatively little about the 30 Seconds To Mars singer.

He was always keenly aware of what he was and wasn’t prepared to tell you about his band/music/life and thus came across as a combination of clever, private and deliberate-to-the-point-of-meticulous when a Dictaphone was placed in front of him and switched on.

However, when we invited Chino Moreno into the most recent discussion Leto’s armour cracked and something of the man behind it shone through. During thirty minutes of anecdotes, recollections and warm regards to the iconic Deftones singer Jared showed a deference, excitement and openness that was as heartening as it was unexpected.
