We Are The Ocean Tour Diary: Wolverhampton

The last tour blog from We Are The Ocean. Dry those eyes.

The final day of tour and I've been hit with the dreaded vocal curse! My throat is feeling the pain and i'm sat drinking herbal trying to soothe him. Usually my voice suffers after a heavy night out but to be honest we haven't really had one on this tour so I'm just really unfortunate!

When I last blogged on day two you would have caught me saying that we were off to a club to let our hair done but truthfully, I took it easy and we were out of there by 1.00am. So it seems even when I take it carefully and try to look after my voice it still messes me around! I'm going to have to have a serious (very croaky) chat with it...

Anyway, day three in Leeds was blinding. We seem to be in Leeds more than London these days, our tour manager lives there so we're forever staying there and this was our 3rd show in the city during 2010 already. But it never gets boring, always a great place to play. We hit the clubnight at the Cockpit after the show but after half an hour I resided back to the van to chill (although if I'd known my voice was going to give up anyway I would have just gone all out and partied!)

Yesterday we played in Glasgow, another city that seems impossible to avoid. Although it was our first time witnessing the ABC venue, which is a really great, big room with apparently, the largest disco ball in Europe hanging from its ceiling. It is rather huge...

I'd have to say that out of the four shows Glasgow it was probably 4th in order of how much I enjoyed it. I'm sorry for the people that were there, there was a bunch of you who were amazing and we thank you insanely, but a lot of the crowd didn't seem to care for us and I don't think we played 100%, but they can't always be perfect right? Especially with us that's for sure!

As soon as we played I rushed off to the Academy around the corner to watch You Me At Six. We go a long way back with these boys and it's always so emotional watching them. Every single time I see them they've stepped it up, and their fan base is becoming rather ridiculous. It was an awesome show, for anyone with tickets to any of the remaining shows get ready to be blown away!

Hopefully this herbal tea will pay off and my voice will comply for one final night. We haven't played Wolverhampton since 2008 so I'm really excited to be back and see some old faces and hopefully a lot of new ones.

Until next time.
