Tour Blog Day One: Birmingham
Lavotchkin blog from the road on their Rock Sound sponsored tour with Throats!

So after a bit of a chaotic get away from Newcastle we headed to Birmingham for show one. First day free of work for three whole weeks, so needless to say tour excitement had set in by the time we were on the motorway. We had met Alex and Bill Throats before and have been friends with The JCQ's merch guy Alec for a while, so when arriving in Birmingham there were no awkward introductions at all and within no time at all the bands were chilling together like we had known each other for years which was fully sweet.
The show was a lot better than everyone expected since we all found out the day before that The Gaslight Anthem were playing round the corner from us. First gigs of tours are usually a little sketchy in our experience, though everyone was really on it tonight and all round made a really good start to tour. Cheers all you Brummies for coming out!
Injuries so far from playing, Tom Throats played so hard that he passed out last song and Alex Throats screamed so hard he was sick multiple times after playing. Our Si hit himself in the face with a mic and now has a pretty bad ass scratch down the side of his face. We're expecting a shit load of injuries on this tour, so if you want to see blood or cause some, a date on this tour is for you I'm predicting.
After the show we had to make a sooner than later get away to squeeze in a family visit with Si's uncle who we were staying with. Cans, a chilli, the France South Africa game and some reefer saw an easy end to day one. All good!
Tunes keeping us going in the van so far are: the new Coliseum album, the new Trap Them EP, Pissed Jeans, Young Livers and Lewd Acts.
